C. Dale Brown - C. Dale Brown wrote on 5/29/99:  "The Philbrick in my family is Catherine Philbrick. Both of her parents were born in NH. I have no other information about them. Born 2-15-1815 Died 11-2-1891, Married 8-29-1838 to Reuben Brown (6-24-1815 -- 7-10-1890), Charles, their 1st child, was born 9-27-1841 in Elton, Cattaraugus Co, NY. Male; Marian, their 2nd child, was born 9-29-1845 in Elton, Cattaraugus Co, NY. Female; Orinda, their 3rd and last child, was born 10-30-1857 in Dayton, Green Co, Wis. Female.  Judging from the birth dates one might offer the conjecture that there might have been other children that failed to live. Catherine and Reuben were both born in Vt. How or when they got to NY is unknown to me. In 1856 the family moved to Dayton, Green Co, Wi. From there they moved to Smyrna, Ionia Co., Mi. in 1867 where they died and are they are buried there. My Wife, Tania, I did some detective work and found their graves in the Smyrna Cemetery. These two are one set of my great-great- grandparents.  C. Dale wrote again on 5/30/99:  "This morning as I was doing some filing I looked at the map of Cattaraugus County, NY. I failed to mention that Reuben Brown & Catherine Philbrick lived in Freedom township. I see that several of Samuel Philbrick's children were born in Machias township. These two townships are contiguous. It would seem that the possibilities were there does it not? Was Samuel the only brother in or around Machias township?"
