This photograph was provided by a kind donor who wishes to remain anonymous. The back of the photograph has a small envelope attached to it which apparently held the negative produced from this image. Writing on the envelope indicates the photograph belonged to "Mrs. J. W. Philbrick - High Park Street, Gardiner (Maine)" Since obtaining this CDV, we have identified "Mrs. J. W. Philbrick" as Sarah Ayer-Philbrick wife of James William Philbrick:
JAMES WILLIAM11 PHILBRICK (WILLIAM OSGOOD10, OLIVER PATTEN9, OLIVER SMITH8, DAVID7, BENJAMIN6, JAMES5, EBENEZER4, JAMES3, JAMES2, THOMAS1
Based on information provided by his James Wm. Philbrick (Jr.), we believe the photograph is either of his father, James William (above) or his aunt, Alice Philbrick who was born in 1887. We tend to believe it is a picture of Alice since it looks like a little girl, however it was not uncommon for small boys to have a "girlish" appearance in many photographs from that era.
